ArMAN Fernandez
1928-2005. Born in NICE, France.

Arman could be described as the artist that went from using objects as painting brushes and then turning them into pieces of art themselves. Inspired by his father who worked as a photographer and artist, the young Arman started to experiment with mixing several different mediums in the field of art. As a start Arman believed himself to be the kind of artist that would be devoted to the expression of the abstract but got a totally new direction in his art by getting inspiration from and cooperating with artist like Yves Klein and Andy Warhol witch he got to know very early in his carer. In modern times Fernadez Arman is best known for his compositions, objects put together as sculptures and multiples moulded together in concrete, steel and plexiglass. Lars Blumenthal is one of the few gallerists in Scandinavia that worked closely with Arman during the 80's and 90's
